DANCE STOMP SHAKE

Simply Serving

About The Event

Date: Monday, Dec. 11th 2023
Location:
St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield Ohio – 34 W Pleasant St, Springfield, OH 45506

This “Shared Holiday Meal” is meant to celebrate and thank those who serve others in the community.  Police, Teachers, Counselors, Social Workers, Ministers, and their families.  We are paying particular focus to those working in Mental Health-Related Support Agencies and Organizations.

This year’s Simply Serving event promises an exceptional and heartwarming evening, blending a shared holiday meal with a special award recognition ceremony. Fifteen outstanding residents, nominated by 225 youth in the community, will be honored with awards named after three local legends: Sheila Rice, Carl Clark, and Blontas “Winkie” Mitchell (posthumously). These legends will be remembered annually through recognitions nominated by surveys conducted throughout the year.

Our esteemed guest speaker for the evening is Florence Randolph, a Community Outreach Specialist from the Yellow Springs Police Department. Her pivotal role bridges the gap between citizens in need and vital assistance programs such as social services, counseling, healthcare, mental health support, substance abuse assistance, and homeless shelters.
